Akoko is a contemporary Nigerian cuisine experience set in a stylish ambiance that showcases the best of Nigerian culture.
FARM were approached to design the restaurant curating the elements of art and architecture in a space to showcase this cuisine. With such a rich heritage in open wood cooking, the oldest method of cooking known, the glowing red ames and smoky ambers red clay is applied to the walls and ceiling. This rustic warm material is offset against a contemporary wide board Dinessin floor to keep this warmth running from wall to floor and complimenting the handcrafted Hans J Wegner Elbow chair.
Pairing back the materials allows the colours of the food to be displayed and showcased on handcrafted pine tables lit from above by hanging concrete spots.
